Project Description

Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa at Bole International Air port
Meet and greet Network Travel and Tour Agency representative at Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa, and transferred to the hotel. Overnight stay in Reliance Hotel Apartment. 

Day 2: City tour in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa is the third highest capital of the world on an altitude of 2300-2500 m. with a pleasant climate and a background of green with eucalyptus trees covered mountains. The city is founded in 1886 by Emperor Menelik II and Queen Taitu.

Visit Entoto Mountains, with very nice view over the capital, the National/Ethnographic museum, St George church and the Merkato, biggest open air market in Africa. Overnight stay in Reliance Hotel Apartment. 

Day 3: Training at Sululta and drive to Assela
Early in the morning you will drive to Sululta (a flat grassy plain where lots of the top athletes run, and you will get chance to chat with a big group of runners) where you will start your training. Drive back to hotel & take shower and have a breakfast.

After breakfast, you will drive to Assela (175 Km from Addis). On the way, you will visit the Crater Lake of Debre Ziet. You will stop for lunch at Nazareth (100km from Addis Ababa). Then you will arrive in Assela (late afternoon). You will check into a hotel. You will have dinner, rest & spend the night there. Overnight stay in Derartu Tullu Hotel. 

Day 4: Training at Assela highlands 
An early morning running at Assela highlands. After finishing your training back to hotel for shower and breakfast. We spend some time with local coaches and Athletes.

In the afternoon after lunch a drive will take you to Bokoji (50 Km from Assela at 2700m, it is a cool highland. Bekoji – Ethiopia’s Home of Athletics Champions). You will arrive in Bekoji late in the afternoon. You will check into a hotel and take a break. Dinner will be at the hotel. In the evening, you will get back to the hotel and spend the night there. Overnight stay in local hotel. 

Day 5: Training at Bokoji Athletics Village
An early morning running at Bokoji Athletics village where most of Ethiopian Olympic gold medal winners seem to have chosen to be born here. Haile Gebreselassie, Derartu Tulu, Fatuma Roba, Kenenisa Bekele, and Tirunesh Dibaba. After finishing your training back to hotel for shower and breakfast. Stay the day exploring the local communities. In the evening, you will get back to the hotel and spend the night there. Overnight stay in local hotel. 

Day 6: Drive to Awassa via Arsi-Bale highland
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Awassa (200 km from Bokoji) through the Arsi Highland. You will be arriving in Awassa late afternoon and check into a hotel. Later, you can walk along the lake shore for nice evening sunset and aquatic birds. You will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel. Overnight stay in Lewi Resort or Haile Resort. 

Day 7: Drive back to Addis Ababa and departure
After breakfast, you will visit the scenic morning Fish market in Awassa. Then you will drive to Addis Ababa (275 Km from Awassa), and you will stop for lunch at Ziway. You will arrive in Addis Ababa late afternoon and you will do some shopping for souvenirs.

Finally you will be taken to a farewell dinner for authentic Ethiopian cultural food buffet along with cultural drinks, live music and dances of the diverse nations and nationalities of Ethiopia. 
After dinner, depending on your scheduled flight, you will be transferred out to Bole International Airport for return flight back home. 

N.B; We can set up a customized tour itinerary to meet your requirements and you can combine with tour to Southern Ethiopia & tribes of Omo valley or to Historical routes of Northern Ethiopia.

After breakfast and a short break, you will drive to Bekoji (225 Km from Addis). On the way, you will visit the Crater Lake of Debre Ziet. Day 4 (Friday 23, November): Training at Bokoji Athletics Village

Day 5 (Saturday 24): Drive to back to Addis Ababa 
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to back to Addis Ababa (225 km from Bokoji) through the Arsi Highland. You will be arriving in Addis Ababa late afternoon and check into a hotel. Later, you will have free program. You will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel. Overnight stay in Ghion hotel. 

Day 6 (Sunday. 25 November): Participate & Run 2012 Ethiopian Great Run- (10 Kilo meter or 6 Miles) 
After breakfast you will walk down to Meskel Square (where the race start) and warm up yourself and prepare yourself for to win the competition to raise your country flag up inside the mass. Get Medal.
Walk down to Ghion hotel, take a shower, rest and have a lunch. In the afternoon where you will do some shopping for souvenirs. Finally you will be taken to a farewell dinner for authentic Ethiopian cultural food buffet along with cultural drinks, live music and dances of the diverse nations and nationalities of Ethiopia. 
After dinner, depending on your scheduled flight, you will be transferred out to Bole International Airport for return flight back home.
