Project Description

Day 1: Arrival in Addis Ababa at Bole International Air port
Meet and greet Network Travel and Tour Agency representative at Bole International Airport, Addis Ababa, and transferred to the hotel. Overnight stay in Bole Ambassador Hotel. 

Day 2: City tour in Addis Ababa
Addis Ababa is the third highest capital of the world on an altitude of 2300-2500 m. with a pleasant climate and a background of green with eucalyptus trees covered mountains. The city is founded in 1886 by Emperor Menelik II and Queen Taitu.
Visit Entoto Mountains, with very nice view over the capital, the National/Ethnographic museum, St George church and the Merkato, biggest open air market in Africa. Overnight stay in Bole Ambassador Hotel.

Day 3: Drive to Yirega Alem via the Great Rift Valley
Today en route you will make a stop on Awash River and Lake Ziway to visit aquatic birds. Lake Ziway, the shallowest lake in the rift valley chain of lakes which depth 7m. Its extensive aquatic vegetation attracts a variety of water birds. Commonly seen and easily identified are; Saddle-billed stork, greater jacana, African fish eagle, darter, herons, darters and Wood hoope
You will arrive in Yirega Alem, Aregas Lodge late in the afternoon. Overnight stay in Aregash Lodge. 

Day 4: Excursion to Alte Wondo to visit the Wottona Boltuma Coffee Cooperative
After breakfast, you will drive to Aleta Wondo and visit to the Sidama Coffee Farmers’ Cooperative Union where you will visit the coffee beans being processed from washing, roasting and grinding to packing. You will proceed driving to Dila and Wonago (50 Km from Yirga Alem) where you will visit the Yirga Chefe Coffee Producers’ Association. Then you will drive back to the lodge and spend the night there. Overnight stay in Aregash Lodge. 

Day 5: Drive back to Addis Ababa
After breakfast, you will be driven back to Addis Ababa (325 Km). You will stop for lunch at Lanagano and continue driving to Addis Ababa. You will arrive in Addis Ababa late afternoon where you will do some shopping for souvenirs.

Day 3: Drive to Jimma
In the morning after breakfast, you will drive to Jimma (345 Km from Addis). On the way you will pass through beautiful landscapes as you drive through the Gibe River Valley. Later, you can visit Jimma Museum and King Abba Jiffar Place. You will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel. Overnight stay in Honey land hotel.

Day 4: Drive to Bonga
After an early morning breakfast you will drive to Bonga (125 Kms from Jimma) the birth place of coffee. And upon arrival at Bonga, you will visit to a traditional Kaffa house and learn about the culture of the Kaffa people. You will have lunch at Bonga. After having lunch drive to Ellelo, Adiyo falls, the Dadiben and Gora Hot spring. You will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel. Overnight stay in Kaffa Guest house.

Day 5: Trek to Makira
An early morning trek after breakfast will take you to Makira, the place where coffee Arabica was discovered. En route visit the ancient Adaracha Medhane Alem church and the Gurguto natural Bridge. You will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel. Overnight stay in Kaffa Guest house.

Day 6: Drive to Bebeka
You will be driven to Bebeka (30 km from Mizan Tefari) right after breakfast. There you will check into a hotel and after a brief break, you will have lunch. Later you will visit the largest Coffee Plantation in Ethiopia (covers some 6,000 hectares and is the largest and oldest Coffee Plantation in Ethiopia). In the evening, you will have dinner and spend the night at the hotel. Overnight stay in Bebeka Guest house, or Camping.

Day 7: One more day exploring Coffee day at Bebeka Coffee Plantation
In the morning after having breakfast explore the coffee plantation from seedling to Coffee Bean. Taste the Ethiopian Coffee Arabic at Bebeka. Stay the day in Bebeka. Overnight stay in Bebeka Guest house, or Camping.

Day 8: Drive back to Jimma
In the morning after breakfast you drive back to Jimma. Depending on arrival you can continue a visit to the Jimma attractions. Visit the historical palace of Sultan Abba Jifar (1853 – 1925) that is standing at Jiren. Still stands with its colourful architectural beauty. And continue your visit to Jimma museum that displays most of the historical materials of King Abba Jifar, his kingdom and cultural objects of the local Oromo people and that of the other ethnic groups around Kaffa. Overnight stay in Honey land hotel, Jimma.

Day 9: Drive to Addis Ababa and departure
In the morning, you will have breakfast and drive back to Addis Ababa. You will have lunch at Woliso. You will arrive in Addis Ababa late afternoon and you will do some shopping for souvenirs. Finally you will be taken to a farewell dinner depending on your scheduled flight; you will be transferred out to Bole International Airport for return flight back home.
